Through the Looking Glass

Due Friday 11/6: Sketch plan

Description: 

Students will use the imagery of a reflection from glass or mirrored surface to develop an interesting composition while including a figure of their choice. The reflective quality of the object chosen will aid to develop a metaphor with the figure used. 


Objective:

-Does the student understand the use of a metaphor in their work of art?  What is a metaphor?  What can glass or a mirror be a metaphor for? How do the object and the figure relate to each other? Idea sheet as a team.

-The student will create 1-2 thumbnail sketches of their ideas.

-The student will  practice with acrylics/ oils to prepare the painting

- the student will use acrylic/ oil paint to create a composition demonstrating the use of reflective color, space and form.

Supplies: 

Sketchbook, Canvas, acrylic/ Oil Paint.

 

All Final or in-progress work: Photograph it in good lighting, save photo to Drive, insert the image into appropriate Slideshow slide, cropped and the same slideshow is submitted to nearly every Canvas assignment.
