For this assignment, you will write a minimum of 2 sentences for each- 2 that analyze, 2 that interpret and 2 that evaluate the artwork below. (The full description is already included). Then, you will reply on someone else's thread. In your reply, you can agree with what the person wrote and expand on it, you could ask them a question about what they wrote, or you can respectfully disagree and explain why. This particular artwork may generate an interesting discussion- especially regarding your interpretation of it.

Analyze is to : In this section, you will analyze the artwork. You will take note of all compositional decisions: What choices did the artist make when using line, shape, space, value, color and texture? Which principles of design are evident? (Balance, Variety, Emphasis, Contrast, Rhythm/Repetition, Unity, Pattern, Movement). Interpret: This is where you write about the meaning of the artwork. Sometimes, we will research the work before interpreting it. Other times, you will interpret it based on your own experiences, and how they help you decipher the way the artist chose to use the elements/principles to either tell a story, make you feel an emotion, take a stance on a social issue or to be an aesthetically pleasing arrangement of the elements/principles. Judge: Present your opinion of the work’s successes or failures. What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success or failure?
