This assignment is to focus on shadows. Look at the interesting patterns/shapes they make. How can this translate into a work of art for you?

1. Things to think about.

What is the Big Idea in your piece?

Is there a symbolic meaning when the Emphasis of a composition of work is a shadow?

Should the objects/subject matter you choose, be just significant to the purpose of the piece Links to an external site.?

How can you properly choose a material to work in that aids the significance of the piece?

You should be thinking about these possibilities while you are watching these videos. Let the curiosity flow.

2.  Your Road Map

Then think about a topic that you have interested in or that you would like to explore.   You should be asking yourself "What?" and "Why?"

The use of more available materials.

Your Assignment

3D: You will be gathering objects to create your own installation like the artists, Kumi and Larry.

Drawing: Use any material you like.  Allow your color scheme tell the story as much as the object.

2D: Think about using cut paper or a very vibrant material, such as acrylic, crayon, marker. Allow your color scheme tell the story as much as the object.

Photography: your options are endless! you must still create drawings/ thumbnails to show your thought process.
