Freshmen Fall Meeting Presentation

    WELCOME CLASS OF 2026!

We look forward to meeting all of you!

This page will give you important information about upcoming events throughout the year.

WHAT EVERY FRESHMAN NEEDS TO KNOW (as developed by students at WNHS)

  1. Always get your work done and get your grades up - from the very beginning to your last day.  It may not seem important and you may have “better” things to do, but your education should always be a priority.
  2. Don’t be afraid to try out for sports or to join a club.  You will meet new people that you have things in common with.
  3. Don’t be afraid of trying an AP or honors class.  You get the chance to learn more and go deeper into the topic being covered!
  4. Listen to your teachers!  There’s always a reason to why they talk to you about something.
  5. Put your phones down.  Conversations can wait until after school, but your education can’t.  Also, you don’t want to miss out on life!
  6. Don’t stay up all night studying.  Study for no more than 3 hours and make sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep.
  7. Establish relationships with staff.  They may be the ones who will write your letters of recommendation later in high school.
  8. Know where the counseling offices are.  Counselors are there to help choose classes, help if you are struggling in a class, can help with the college process, and can help if you feel like you just need someone to talk to.
  9. Study for finals!
