Element C - Presentation and Justification of Solution Design Requirements
Preface
The best designs are ones developed by diverse design groups who have completely explored all relevant design goals. Design goals represent;
- Design Requirements
- Design Specifications
- Design Constraints
- Testable Parameters
- The Voice of the Customer / End User / All Stakeholders
These design goals should be captured and communicated to all stakeholders in the form of a design proposal.
Assessment
Presentation and Justification of Solution Design Requirements
- Design requirements are listed and prioritized, and they are consistently clear and detailed.
- Design requirements presented are consistently objective and measurable.
- Design Requirements would be highly likely to lead to a tangible and viable solution to the problem identified.
- There is evidence that the design requirements represent the needs of, and have been validated by, many if not all primary stakeholder groups.
Essential Questions
- Now that I know what the problem statement is and why current solutions are not solving the problem well enough, what are the measurable things a new design would have to accomplish (in order of importance) to be seen as a real solution?
- How did I/we determine each of these design requirements?
